Progress :)

Yesterday we got the news that we are okay'd to start our home study and our packet of paperwork was mail off to us today. We were also okay'd to do have foster kids until we receive "the call". As I sit here waiting for the packet to arrive I find my self looking through the new families added to the waiting list. I've looked ever since we signed up to see how many new families are added and how many have gotten matched as their names are removed. There are 13 families on the waiting list. As I go through and read each of their letters to the birth mother I wonder how to start ours. How can I make ours sound different as some of them sound similar. What do I say to the birth mom? I ponder, just like infertility I hate it when people pretend to know what you are going through. I want to make sure I can be thoughtful to her feels and the pain she is going through but at the same time make sure I don't make it look like I know what she is going through. How do I describe myself and our family? What is important to the person will be matched with? What do they really want to know? I have some time to think....Anyone with idea's it would be greatly appreciated.

What'z been happening

Where have we been......
A week ago today we arrived at our new home(Thanks to our Grandma for letting us stay in her house). During the last week we have worked on changing all of our good old address and all the other work that goes along with moving to a new house. We have signed up to be foster parents again however we have a lot of work to get done before we could take any placements and before our home study can be completed. After our second night here the was a gas leak and they had to come shut off the gas line to the house. The leak thank God was outside.  There was a low order inside but never to the point that we couldn't stay here and God was watching over us because it happened during the night. The smell was horrible outside you could smell it from the street. It will mostly likely get turned back on next week or the following week depending on what all needs to be fixed. But for now we have been boiling hot water to wash our dishes and showering at my dad's house.
Next on the list of things to do its to start cleaning the walls in the front of the house and start preparing some rooms for paint. We have also been starting to set things up for my grandma's yard sale that she will be having here in a couple of weeks. So for the next month I probably wont' have much time for posting on the blog as we are gonna be busy getting grandma's house up to code to pass both of our home studies for the state and for our private adoption. We have our adoption class coming up in mid October and I can't wait.
I also having been having problems again. The doctor back in Idaho gave me 2 different medication to try to get things to stop but there not working. I'm thinking a cyst again which most likely will be surgery again. I have a appointment in a couple of weeks in the city with a doctor that specializes in PCOS and endometriosis.
For now we are so grateful that we made the 3 day drive with very few hiccups. We are also beyond grateful to be close to family again and grateful for all of their help.

Love It

I am defiantly buying this shirt along with some others once we're moved.

Researching Adoption Grants

While good news first. Our second Adoption Fundraiser-Yard Sale raised $800 and still counting. Before the first sale I was hoping that we would make $500 I never dreamed of much more than that. When we raised over $1000 I couldn't believe it. I figured it happened by a rare chance however when we hit almost a $1000 the second time I knew that Gods hand was at work. The sale this last weekend was really slow and I kept thinking we were going to be very lucky to hit $500 God blow me off my feet. Right before we were getting ready to close a bunch of our neighbors donated us money. I couldn't believe it and still can't. We raised almost $2000.00 in 2 yard sales :)

Special thanks to everyone who donated items. We couldn't of done it without you.

Now back to the title.

Well we have raised almost $16,000 by  mostly selling our prized possession ( My hubbies pick-up truck, 2 snowmobiles, and hopefully his tool box soon) and our wonderful Grandma C donation's. I really have to say I am very proud of my hubby. I honestly never though he would do it. When we move in 2 weeks we also plan on down sizing so we can save up money as we don't want this to be our only adoption. I still can't believe we have raised $16,000. It makes my heart melt and eyes water just thinking about it.

We were people that didn't have more than $2000 in our checking and saving at the start of this journey. We had $60,000 in debit between student loans, car loans, medical bills. Now we have paid off half of our debit and raised $16,000. I never had dreams that we would be able to do this but God does and he has a plan. So if we can do it anyone can if you are determined. We also took Finical Peace University class to help us along the way.

We know really back to the title. So since we still have a ways to go we are really hoping for a grant or two so we don't have to take out a loan. So I am going to share grant info that we have found while researching.
Disclosure Time: I am not paid nor endorsed by any of these agencies --Always gotta sneak those in here :)

I will keep updating this list as I find more
