Things to Do While Waiting

So while we have been working on project Noah I have been doing a lot of reading from the agency. I was reading a section on how to keep you busy with your time while you are waiting. Here is their list...

Things to Do While Waiting

Waiting for the phone to ring or an email to appear in your inbox from a birth family can feel like it takes an eternity. But there are helpful and productive things that you can do to help pass the time until you welcome your baby home.
Some Things to Do While Waiting For Baby:
  • Seek support from other people adopting either through local support groups or the IAC forums and adoption support groups.
  • Take a class in newborn care.
  • Take an infant/child CPR & First Aid class.
  • Read about open adoption, parenting and general infant/child care.
  • Talk to your employer and start planning for time away from the office if necessary.
  • Research and select baby furniture (it can take months to order).
  • Research car seats and strollers, with an eye towards a purchase.
  • If you have purchased a car seat already, learn how to install it, then get it checked by a car seat specialist (call your local police department for assistance).
  • Research and select a pediatrician.
  • Select names for each gender (this is a common question from potential birth families).
  • Discuss and research discipline styles/techniques.
  • Research and select a childcare provider (if you are going to work).
  • Research new parenting techniques i.e., baby massage, using sign language, etc.
  • Make some reheat-able quick meals and store in the freezer.
  • Research baby announcements, do-it-yourself or order?
  • Start a life book of your adoption journey for your child.
  • Discuss and make decisions about new wills, life insurance and a guardian for your child.
  • Research and request forms to add your new baby to your health insurance plan.
  • Research any parental/family leave policies with your employer.
  • Research and decide about adoptive breastfeeding.
  • Research and decide about cord blood banking.
  • Research and purchase new baby/brother/sister books for the older sibling(s), if applicable.
  • Discuss what type of new baby/welcome home celebration you want to have.
  • Research and learn how to prevent SIDS.
  • Prepare a first aid kit specifically for children (consult your pediatrician or the Red Cross).
  • Tidy up your closets and storage space.
  • Prepare the nursery.
  • Talk to your friends and family about open adoption.
  • Start a journal or blog about your adoption journey. A journal can record the milestones and detours, as well as your first rush of love for your child.
  • Take advantage of special opportunities with your current family.
One thing that caught my eye that I really haven't even researched is adoption breast feeding. So I have been doing research all day long. I have found amazing information that supports breast feeding and I have read stories of woman that have breast feed their adoptive child. Is it something I want to do. Not quite sure but It is defiantly going to be occupying some of my time. I will post some of the information I find.

Home Project Update

Finally, At last the house is finished beside a few minor projects and finishing the third bedroom could end up being a bigger project then we're hoping it could be. We have to finish finding some decor for the kitchen and finish putting a door from the dining room to our bedroom instead of curtains.

Here We Go !!!!!!!!

Project Noah

Thank You everyone for your prayers over the last couple of weeks. We are trying to stay positive knowing that God has a plan for us. Actually God may have closed the door on the last adoption however he has opened a door that I thought we be far away. God has amazing ways of working in our lives and provides us hope in the future. Today Is the official day of making a new step into the new door God has opened. This new path is going to be called Project Noah. The project was given that name by my dad. Unfortunately we will be moving very slowly until Jan 14th as I have to be 25. However after that things are going to be moving as fast as possible after that. We do have one other option so we have some thinking to do.

The God we serve is a God who opens doors for us . And when He opens a door , no man can shut it. We may try to open doors in our own strength and fail because they are too strong for us. Sometimes we may succeed in opening a door in our own strength only to find that somebody has closed it again . When we face such situations we should allow the Lord to open these doors. His mighty strength and power will open doors so that no one can shut them again . He will go before us and break down every hindrance and break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron . We should not struggle in vain in our own strength against these strong barriers , but instead allow the Lord to open the doors for us. The Lord opened the Red Sea to make His people pass through it. But He closed it when the Egyptians tried to use the way He had opened for His people . The doors that the Lord opens for us cannot be used by our enemies . The way of escape for us will become a way of destruction for our enemies .

When God opens a door for us we do not have to fear whether anybody will close the door that God has opened for us . Sometimes we live in fear of men and of the devil even after the Lord has opened a door for us . We live in constant fear and worry whether the door will be closed again by anyone and we begin to suspect everyone that they might do something harmful to us. The Lord does not want us to live in such fear and worry. He wants us to live in assurance and confidence that the door He has opened for us cannot be closed by anyone.

On the other hand when the Lord opens a way for us , we should not try to close it . Sometimes the Lord may lead us in a difficult path . At such times we should not try to escape from it . When Jesus faced the cross , he did not run away from it . Peter tried to put up a resistance and cut off the right ear of the high priest ’s servant . Jesus told Peter to stop it. Jesus was willing to drink the cup which His Father had given him. He did not call the cross as a cup given by the devil or his enemies. He called it a cup which His Father had given him. He was willing to follow the path in which His Father was leading him. Even in our own lives we should not try to escape from the path of suffering when the Lord leads us through it . We should not close a door that the Lord has opened for us.

The God we serve is a God who closes doors. And when He closes doors , no one can open them. When Daniel was thrown into the lions den, the Lord sent an angel and shut the mouth of the lions . The Lord shuts the doors through which the enemy tries to destroy us . He will also close doors and paths which are harmful to us. We should have discernment to recognize when the Lord has shut a door in our lives . We should not struggle to open a door which the Lord has closed for us . His thoughts and ways are higher than our ways and thoughts . Sometimes we may not realize the dangers awaiting us in a certain path and we try to enter it. But the Lord prevents us and closes that path in order to protect us . We should recognize that and submit to the way of the Lord . We should not rebel and struggle to enter a path which the Lord has closed for us.

Sometimes the Lord closes a door because it is not according to His will and purpose . When the apostles attempted to preach the Gospel in Asia and Bithynia they were forbidden by the Holy Ghost to go there. It was not the plan of God for them to go there at that time . Therefore we should be willing to accept the will and the purpose of God when He closes a door in our lives . We should not become disappointed and bitter against God when He closes a door that we wanted Him to open for us. We should trust that the Lord works everything for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. We should earnestly seek God for His revelation so that we can realize it when the Lord has closed a door for us and submit to His will.

Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day - October 15
On October 25, 1988, President Ronald Reagan designated the month of October 1988 as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.
14 years later in 2002, The October 15th Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day (PAILRD) Campaign began as a movement started by Robyn Bear, Lisa Brown, and Tammy Novak. Together, they petitioned the federal government, as well as the governors of each of the 50 states, and by October 15, 2002, 20 states had signed proclamations recognizing the date as such. Today, all 50 American states have yearly proclamations. Check out October15th.com for the Official website recognizing this Day.
candlesOn October 15, Robyn Bear, and the ladies behind Infant Loss Remembrance Day, invite the world to light a candle at 7PM in all time zones. Keep it burning for 1 hour and together there will be a continuous wave of light over the entire world.
“Today is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day. Let’s take some time to remember the babies who were born asleep, or whom we carried but never met, or those we have held but could not take home, or who made it home but didn’t stay.
Even if you don’t light a candle, or update your status, I hope this day starts to open up the conversation about how common infant loss is, and hopefully these conversations can make those who experience it feel a little less alone.
I invite anyone who wants to share their story to leave it in the comments below.

Today we remember our sweet babies that are in heaven. I'm sure they are having the time of their lives in heaven. We truly miss them even tho we never got to met any of them and pray for them often. They will never be forgot. We miss you each and every day and can't wait until we get to meet you for the first time and hold you in our arms forever. Love you mommy and daddy.

Grief/Prayers Needed

Its amazing how one day, one minute or two words can change our lives for ever. Some people in our lives make choices that affect our lives more than they can ever imagine. Only if those people who make those selfish chooses ever saw the outcomes of the other persons life maybe they would change. Ten months ago one persons choice has changed my life beyond their mind and mine. Ten months ago that one persons choice has taken so much away from me. I never imagined this much could be take away. From that day and still today my biggest regret is not putting my foot down even tho I my of lost my job. I have lost more now then if I just would of said no. At this point that one person's choice has token away my hope of ever having a family of my own.
With only week(s) left to be put on the waiting list with our current adoption agency they have decided to change their minds. I my heart is just falling apart writing this. They decided because of my back and because we don't make 100's and 1000's of dollars a year that (is the truth terms) we are not rich enough to adopt through them. (I'm don't mean anything bad towards anymore when I write this) I'm sorry but when does money play a role into how much you love your child. I have always felt this way. The people who don't have all the money in the world are the ones who will give every last penny to someone who needs it more than they do. My heart just aches over the fact. Last week our agency was telling us that we probably won't be on the list for long because we are so open and that our profile will be shown a lot.  We also had more money saved up at this point then most they work with. Then to today they call to tell us that they are no longer going to work with us because of our income and my back issues because it is too unstable. I'm sorry I know people who have just gone through organ failures who have adopted shortly after. Who's life can be granted forever stable medically and financially. Anyone can hurt their backs as easily as I did or end up with a life threatening issue. Anyone can have there jobs ripped out from them any second of any day especially in today's world. I'm sorry, but what humanly christian based agency does that to a person.
Today I am just so angry at the person who had changed my life forever. Today I am mad at the person who said those hurtful words. Today I don't understand god's plan. Today All I know is that my heart is broken again. My hurt is ripped into millions of pieces again. Today everything has been taken away once again. Today the person who made one tiny choice has ripped my hopes and dreams away. Today the only person I know that can change any of this is God. Today I question his plan. Today I seek more of him. Today I give him my heart back that is ripped into millions of pieces. Today I still have him.

1 Peter 1

New International Version (NIV)
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ,
To God’s elect, exiles scattered throughout the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood:
Grace and peace be yours in abundance.

Praise to God for a Living Hope

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, 11 trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of the Messiah and the glories that would follow. 12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things.

Be Holy

13 Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. 14 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”[a]
17 Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear. 18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 20 He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. 21 Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.
22 Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart.[b] 23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.24 For,
“All people are like grass,
    and all their glory is like the flowers of the field;
the grass withers and the flowers fall,
25     but the word of the Lord endures forever.”[c]
And this is the word that was preached to you.

My New Fashion Statement

Yesterday morning I was on my way out to my car when my foot rolled of the edge into the uneven edge. Next thing i knew I was screaming that I broke my foot. After getting back into the house thanks to the help of my wonderful husband. I kept it raised and iced all day. Today it was worse. Yesterday I could put some weight on it and today I couldn't do it without. Lots of pain so I broke down and went to the doctor. Well it's a possible fracture but there is to much swelling to be sure so it's splinted for 3 to 5 days then re-x-ray. However until then it lots if ice, ibuprofen and keeping my leg up and no weight bearing.

YEAH !!!!!!!

I got a call for the adoption agency today to set up our home study stuff. The agency we are using does an individual interviews with each of us that last 2 hours. Following that they do a joint interview in the home and safety check that is about 2 hours long too. God is playing a huge roll in getting this done so fast. Reason #1: They normally schedule the first interview 2 weeks out at the soonest. Reason #2: They normally can't get the home visit done for another two weeks after that. Reason #3: All of this normally doesn't happen until after the class. I could keep going.

Anyways Jacobs Interview is on Thursday and mine is on Friday. Did I mention today is already Tuesday and where in the same week :). Even our worker couldn't believe she could get us in this fast. I should quote her. "Only an act of God's hand could get you in so fast." Not only that but our workers name is also Holly :). Anyone want to disagree that God's playing a huge part in this or try to tell me that this is not what God wants in our life :)

Less Than 2 Weeks

With less than two weeks left until our class I have a really hard time not wanting to buy things for you future baby or babies. However with not knowing if our little one will be a boy or a girl it makes it really hard to buy clothes. I have found a few gender natural clothes but they are getting hard to find and the only's I find are all ducks. Nothing against ducks but their not my thing. So instead of buying things I decided to make some things......
My first set of Burp Rags

My Second Set

Tomorrow I'm making my third set
Then after that I am going to start making my cloth diapers
